Rishta by Arjun Saluja Menswear

August 31, 2013

Arjun Saluja, one of the talented fashion designers in India, has always managed to add something astonishing to the world of fashion. After graduating in 1998 from Philadelphia College of Textile and Science fashion in Merchandising and Design degree, Arjun returned to India and created the first collection of his Label Rishta. Ever since then Saluja has been creating stories about androgyny in terms of his clothing, using the elements of alluring textile and impeccable tailoring.
‘One is the first non-zero number as well as the first odd number. Any number multiplied by one is that number, as one is the identity for multiplication. One is its own factorial, its own square, and its own cube. One is also the empty, as any number multiplied by one is itself,” explained by Arjun for looking into the notion of ‘One’ as inspiration for Rishta’s AW 13-14 collection.
His menswear is an amalgamation of comfort and style, using fabrics like wool and cotton in the shades and tints of achromatic colour. Saluja has chosen to use the motifs of square and cube in the linear fashion for the shirts and trousers.
